How does amazingtunes.com work?
Is amazingtunes.com free?
Yes, all the music is free to listen to on the site. You can download some songs for free and others are available to download for 79 pence.
How much does it cost to buy a song?
If a song is available to download, it'll set you back just 79p.
Isn't this just passed through the hands of all sorts of fat-cat middle-men leaving the artist with a couple of pennies?
Nope, there are no fat-cats or middle-men hanging out at Amazing Towers. Your money goes straight into the artist's PayPal account and we don't take a single penny. Aside from PayPal's transaction fee, the artist keeps 100% of the money you give them.
I haven't received my activation email yet, where is it?
First check your junk mail folder, it could be safely tucked away in there. If not, try checking the spelling of your email address; a mistyped email address is the main reason people don’t receive their activation email.
I've forgotten/lost my password. Can I get it back?
You'll have to reset your password. You’ll need to provide an email address then we can send you a link to reset your password.
How do you calculate the Charts?
We take into account a range of factors when building the Charts including number of plays, ratings and other activity around a tune. Our algorithm has been written by mathematicians and also factors a number of details that we keep secret to ensure nobody is able to manipulate the Charts.
How do I download a song I've purchased?
Once you've bought a song, you'll be sent an email with a link. Simply click it and the song will start downloading to your computer.
You'll be able to add it to your account soon as well, so that you can get a hold of it once you login.
I want to find new music…
How do I find new music?
It’s easy to discover new music on amazingtunes.com. You can search for new music based upon the type of music you like (such as ‘indie’ or ‘pop’), an artists name (whether they’re emerging or famous) or a specific tune name. You can then browse the results or play them.
Alternatively you can browse the amazingtunes.com Chart, search for music by tags, see what’s popular or view our featured artists.
You can also tune in to Amazing Radio where our presenters will introduce you to the best new music in the world.
How do I listen to music?
The amazingtunes.com player window lets you listen to music uninterrupted whilst you browse amazingtunes.com or visit other sites. Make sure you have pop-ups enabled for amazingtunes.com or the player window won’t appear. You’ll need Flash player version 8 (or higher).
What are recommendations?
Once you’ve registered with amazingtunes.com you can tell us what songs you like by using the heart and broken heart buttons. The more songs you rate, the more we know about your musical tastes. We can then recommend new music to you, based on your ratings. Remember – the more music you rate, the better your recommendations will be.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll find personal recommendations in your account section.
What is tagging?
You can organise songs by tagging them. A tag is a word or phrase that describes any aspect of a song. For example, if you click on a tag that says ‘indie’, you’ll find music that people have described as indie music.
You can add your own tags to any song or artist. For example, if you hear a song that puts you in a good mood you could tag the song with ‘good-mood’. Tagging other songs with ‘good-mood’ would create a personalised list of songs.
As well as this, you can look at the tags other people have created. It’s another way to explore and discover new music. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll find your personal tag list on the right hand side of the page. Tag as many songs as you like!
Be sure to separate your tags with commas.
How do I create a playlist?
You must be logged in to create playlists. When you hear a song you like, click on the playlist button to add it to the Playlist Builder. Do this for as many songs as you like to create your own personal playlist. When you’ve added all the songs you want, name your playlist and click Save in the Playlist Builder.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll find your playlists in the menu on the right hand side of the screen.
How do I find gigs?
Visit the Gigs page to see a list of all Gigs or visit your favourite artist's profile page which will list their upcoming Gigs.

How do I upload a song to amazingtunes.com?
You can upload songs once you’ve logged in. Click on upload in the Tools area at the top of the screen. From here you can browse for the MP3 file you wish to upload. You must then tick the relevant boxes for the availability of your song – streaming, downloading or selling – and whether your song contains any explicit lyrics.
You must agree with the Terms and Conditions of amazingtunes.com, then click on Upload for your file to start uploading. Once your song has been successfully uploaded you’ll be asked for some information about it: title, tags (to help other people find it), a cover image (make sure this looks professional so people choose to click on it) and a description.
What kind of files can I upload?
Currently amazingtunes.com only supports MP3 files. However, we know quality is important so we’ve ensured that file size isn’t an issue. The maximum file upload limit is 250MB and there are no limits to the number of songs you can upload.
What bit rate should I use to upload my songs to amazingtunes.com?
There are no stipulations on bit rate with our player. We recommend the MP3 files you upload are sampled at, or above, a bit rate of 192Kbps and a stereo frequency of 44.1 kHz.
How do I sell my music at amazingtunes.com?
Selling your music at amazingtunes.com is simple. You sell direct to your fans and keep 100% of all download profits. When you sell a tune at amazingtunes.com the money is transferred instantly and directly to your PayPal account. We don't even touch it. All the information you need to start selling on amazingtunes.com can be found on our PayPal Page.
How much money do I get from a sale?
You keep all of the profits from your download. The only cost is PayPal's transaction fee which 2.9% + £0.20 GBP. If you're selling items under £12 however, you can apply for PayPal's micropayments (definitely do this!) and you'll keep up to 72p from your 79p sale. Again, you'll find all the information on our PayPal Page.
If I sell my tracks here can I still sell them anywhere else?
Yes. All the songs you upload remain your property; we promote them non-exclusively. You’re free to upload the same songs elsewhere.
Can I upload cover versions/remixes of already released songs?
You need to own the copyright on the music you upload otherwise you cannot upload it.
This includes samples, covers, remixes, artwork and any other form of creative offering [intellectual property], musical or otherwise, where it is copyrighted material you do not own.
How do I remove a tune I’ve uploaded?
Go to your profile page and click the pencil button. You can remove your tune by pressing the “Delete Tune” button at the bottom of the page.
How do I add gigs?
When you are logged in, go to the Gigs page, follow the Add a Gig link at the top of the page.
You can then add as many Gigs as you like using our database of venues or by creating a new venue if we don't have it listed.
Upcoming Gigs will appear in your profile and also on the Gigs page.
Can you add me to Featured Artists?
We listen to every new tune on amazingtunes.com and select those that we think the amazingtunes.community will love. If you’d like yours to be considered please send an email to support@amazingtunes.com.
Where do I send my demo to?
There’s no need to send us a demo – just upload your tunes (in MP3 format).
How do I get on Amazing Radio?
All uploads to amazingtunes.com are considered for airplay on Amazing Radio. It's the fans on amazingtunes.com who help shape what gets on air. A selection of songs are also given their first play on Amazing Radio during Audition, a show dedicated to letting listeners decide what makes it onto the playlist. Our show producers are always looking for great new music so it's possible you can receive airplay during one of our shows.
There are three main routes to airplay; Firstly, when a track has received a lot of attention on the site (such as 'likes', 'playlistings', purchases etc.). Secondly via 'Audition', the Amazing Radio show where we present a number of new releases so that listeners can decide what they'd like to hear more regularly. Finally, show producers are able to select a number of tracks for their shows. Of course, if the song already has traction on amazingtunes.com the producers and presenters are much more likely to have heard your tune.
What is Facebook Connect?
Facebook Connect lets you login to amazingtunes.com (and other sites) using your Facebook credentials and Share information and actions on amazingtunes.com with your friends on Facebook.
How does it work?
If you are already an amazingtunes.com user login to amazingtunes.com and then press Connect with Facebook. Your amazingtunes.com account is now tied to your Facebook one.
If you don't already have an amazingtunes.com account simply click on Connect with Facebook and complete the simple form.
How do I share items with my Facebook friends?
Once you've connected with Facebook you'll get a pop up screen whenever you Like a tune, become a Fan or add a Gig. This pop up screen lets you post these items to Facebook.
