April Serves Up Amazing Tunes
Does April Start look familiar?Well if you have been to New York recently you might have seen her before.
But where? On TV, on billboards, in magazine features? – no she might have asked you whether you like your eggs ‘over easy’ and given your coffee a refill.
But now a new force in music has recognised her talent, taken off her waitress’s pinny and flown April to the UK for a fairytale ‘big break’.
British based amazingtunes.com, which gives unsigned artists a route to stardom and an instant income, believes April deserves to be showered with success.
“My heart has been racing ever since I got the phone call.” Said April. “I have never been out of the USA before….and here I am clutching a plane ticket to perform at the BBC.
“I feel like I am in a rags to riches movie. This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me.
“It sure beats getting grits and coffee for my hungry customers.”
The singer/songwriter who draws upon the influences of Reba McEntire and Shania Twain, has poured her heart in to music for her entire life – but until now has never been given the break that she deserves.
The 26-year-old born in Pincher Creek, Alberta and raised in Spokane, Washington is set to perform for BBC producers and music executives at a secret showcase on Thursday (June 14th) at 1pm.
More than a thousand unsigned artists have already uploaded tracks to amazingtunes.com – even before it has been officially launched. The site aims to break the traditional stranglehold of record companies on burgeoning talent.
Artists are able to get their music directly to the public and earn seventy percent of any revenue raised as a result.
The revolutionary technology means that users get to trawl a tranche of refreshing new talent - and can send friends and colleagues links to tracks that they might like to hear, totally free of charge.
When April uploaded a number of tracks on to the site earlier this Spring – there was a massive public response – with interest from around the World with thousands sending the link to on line buddies
Paul Campbell, Founder of amazingtunes.com , knew that April was serving up something special. “April epitomises why I started amazingtunes.com She has oodles of talent flowing through her but left to the whimsy of A&R men in record companies it could be left undiscovered.
“I try to listen to as much of the new music uploaded on the site as possible and was intrigued by April’s upload. I knew immediately that she had something special.” April, now has an album, and a number of other projects underway.
“I have never given up on it.” Said April. “and now things are beginning to happen for me.”
