ARTIST a new hope?

a new hope?

a new hope? started out way back in 1997 as a 14 year old three-piece outfit in Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre. Their talents were groomed rehearsing in a fishing “store” and pretty soon they began to make big waves on the local scene. In 1999, the band sacked their drum machine and employed a ‘real’ drummer. Their first gig as a four-piece in Drummonds bar was attended by a mere 12 people until a fight broke out roughly halving the numbers. Nonetheless, the band went from strength-to-strength and have gone on to support the likes of Aereogramme and The Complete Stone Roses over the years. After many a successful gig in the local area, the band separated in 2001 as College, University and sitting around a flat in Glasgow beckoned. However, the band re-formed in 2007 and some people have been quoted as saying ”as good as they were a while back". Now based in Glasgow they are enjoying things more than ever having recently recorded 3 demo tracks with a view to showcasing their music with gigs in Glasgow and the surrounding area.

Influences: The Stone Roses; Oasis; Idlewild; The Music
