Anima

Anima was born and bred in south west London. He first got into Drum & Bass after listening to a classic piece of Jungle back in 1995 called, Wishing on a Star, produced by 88.3 and Lisa May. After that first taste he decided that Jungle was the vibe for him and became devoted to the scene, then set about buying old tape packs and e.p's from the likes of Miami, Ibiza, Two Bad Mice and many other heavyweight producers at the time. Since then he has witnessed the Jungle scene spread and evolve into the sounds you hear today. Many, "offspring?s" have sprung up since the 1998 Jungle explosion and at the moment he is feeling the darker deeper sounds of Drum & Bass and Drum Funk, but still cannot resist a good analogue Jungle tune. He started producing Drum & Bass three years ago when he met his girlfriend, (a soul of inspiration) and uses a mixture of Reason 3 and FL6. He draws influences from the people he has met and the experiences he has had. He does not like to think Drum & Bass should have a certain sound or vibe and hates the fact that heavyweight producers are basically saying, ?This is what Drum & Bass should sound like". He does not compare his sound to anyone else's and likes to think his sound is unique and different, " I try not to let myself get pinned down to a certain "style" of Drum & Bass, my style/technique.....Is Ninja technique because I have many styles.". Recently he has had airtime on UK Bass Radio, with tracks, Insomnia, Slice V.I.P, & Shut Down. As for the steel, Anima only mixes as a hobby and prefers to make the tunes instead of playing them, he gets a buzz out of DJ's playing his tunes, " I tell the DJ's what to play" - Mr Hilton , (the harder they come).

Influences: Anima does not like to think he has been "influenced" into doing something he loves.
