Blast are currently Moscow's No1 English singing indie guitar band.Formed by Georgian singer/songwriter Noshrevan"Nash" Tavkhelidze and Russian guitarist Alexandre"Khlap"Artchevski with Bulgarian musicians Vlado and Valio on rhythm section.Signed up to British/Australian indie label Ghost Records.Recorded first single "Bury the Shoe Girl" in Manchester produced by Mark Tolle(Stone Roses and The Mock Turtles).Distribution by Shellshock,PR handled by Work Hard based in London with airplays and interviews on Radio1 and XFM.In 2004 recorded and released the track "Alright" which became an instant radio chart hit in Moscow and recorded their debut album "F..k the Industry" in London at Spotlight Studios produced by Graham Pilgrim (3 Colour Red,The Strangers,The Go-Betweens,Alabama 3 and The Vessels).Embarked on their 1st UK tour playing 18 gigs in 21 days to promote their album including headlining University of Northampton and a spot at the "In the City" festival in Manchester plus airplay on Steve Lamacq's Radio 1 Monday night show. In 2006 Blast recored a mini 4 track cd in London produced by Russ Keffert(Crash Convention,The Rakes and Larrikin Love). In 2007 Blast recorded their second album "Real Life" but before Blast went into the studio due to family reasons Khlap left the band to be replaced by Misha from the Moscow band Mothers Little Helpers. 2008 and 2009 producer and senior Abbey Road studio engineer Chris Brown flew out to Moscow on various occasions to lay down and recorded new Blast tracks for their forth coming album "Strange Days Coming" scheduled for a May 2010 release.From being a 4 piece band Blast have become 5 with the introduction of keyboard player Seva into the line up. Blast have performed and supported many well known artists either in Moscow or in the UK.These include Badly Drawn Boy,Muse,Blur,The Strokes,Razorlight,Supergrass,Franz Ferdinand,Starsailor,Florence and the Machine,Brett Anderson,The Paddingtons and The Holloways.
