http://www.myspace.com/boathouseband http://www.boathouseband.com http://www.bebo.com/boathouseband Gerry always was a day-dreamer; his happy childhood filled with imaginary friends and distractions. He day-dreamed his way through school and into a band with Kieran in college. Soon realizing they had similar tastes in music, different from the route they were on, they decided to change things. They combined Gerry's unusual chords with Kieran's spidery melancholic string picking, always grasping for that sound in their heads, producing the treble-end of an incomplete pattern. Metal Micky heard the sounds on the wind, and downed tools to follow, adding an edgy yet strangely melodious bass sound; the pulse. They called themselves 'Boathouse'. But before the recording sessions of their three track demo 'Trail of Ghosts' the day-dreaming came to an end as Gerry's father died. Out of pain and desperation a flood of songs and images formed in Gerry's head, culminating in the tital track of their first proper EP 'What I Remember'. But wait...we're getting ahead of ourselves here.... Departure of long-time friend and drummer Michael brought Keir to the fold. Ruminating in his house, stroaking his beard between studies he knew he needed an outlet, or else he'd be loosing some beard! He'd felt the energy around and knew the palette needed a different colour, with at times a lighter touch....almost there.... They saw Amy playing in a bar, and were impressed with her strong alto tones and dark songs, knowing that one vital piece was missing they asked her along for the ride....the picture was complete. 'Trail' was a step in the right direction but already they'd moved on, a wrestless energy unsatisfied with what went before, reaching further into themselves facing what was there and dragging it out. 'What I Remember' is the end of this story but only the start of another....
