Bonnie Freechyld's story is hardly straightforward! Although she was born in Australia to english parents, she grew up in the sultanate of Brunei. After relocating as a teen a few more times, three years ago now she settled in London, where she feels the most at home. Music has always been a part of her life, from listening to her mum's Elvis and Buddy Holly tapes, to her fathers world music tastes (malaysian/african/south american) as a child, she only wanted to sing. Bonnie's musical style really is eclectic and every song has the potential of taking on a new style. Bonnie has been writing and recording since her arrival in London (and before of course!) and most recently she was nominated for the Urban Performing Arts Grant (2008). Presently she is gigging around London as well as writing and recording her first album, which is planned for release in 2009.
