ARTIST John Hampson
Really I am a writer of pop songs, although I do like to play live now and again when anyone will let me! My current set includes a couple of the songs you will hear plus things like "Your Song", "Let's Stick Together and "Brown Eyed Girl". My own songs like "Lazy Days" and "You need more time" and "My T.V." are also going down well, and it's the first time they are being played live, so it's nice to get some some reaction to them on here as well. Music is really a hobby but something that I take very seriously in my song writing and recordings as hopefully you will hear. Into many things such as travel, Internet, Subaru cars, Ceroc/Jive dancing, and am a season ticket holder at Portsmouth PFC. I was born in Portmouth, and have lived in Rowlands Castle, Oxford, Bristol and Ealing Broadway in London.Quite a frequent traveler to Eastern Europe (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Hungary) and have been to Australia, USA, Fiji, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia in the past. I am currently working with the vocalists Dave Loughran and Lucy Thatcher on this project.
Influences: Style wise I am mainly influenced by the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel. Van Morrsion, Jeff Lynne and Paul Simon, which is not that surprising as that is what I listened to as I was growing up.
