I got into Hip Hop way back when I was in Nigeria, but really I've been exposed to the art of rhyming from the first time I heard Nigerian poets putting words together. Back in the day I listened to the Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa and Whodini. I started rhyming properly to LL Cool J's tracks and EPMD I use to rap to my classmates @ school in Nigeria beat on the wooden desk for the beats –rough rugged & raw./ NDT is made up of Ca$hino (emcee), DBlack (emcee) & SD (dj) with affiliates like Paragon, Modenine (Nigeria – 3 Channel O awards 2006), Dil of Blaq Money. Ca$hino’s Power Moves EP was released on vinyl only in 1999, the EP received heavy airplay from all specialist shows, majors and pirate stations in the UK, as well being successfully in the UK it was also heavily played in Germany, France, Nigeria and in the US Atl, Connecticut and in other parts of the USA. Since then Ca$hino and other NDT members have featured on various other projects and compilations most notably Tim Westwood’s Presents UK Hip-Hop Vol. 1 and a press/radio/magazine campaign for BT’s (British Telecom) online music site. In 2001/2002 Ca$hino released the Subterranean album on his own Label Rugged-Style Records. The CD is available in UK, Germany, Greece, Spain, Canada, Norway & all online stores such as Amazon, HMV, Tower records and Virgin Mega store. The Subterranean video also received heavy airplay on MTV UK, MTV France amongst other TV outlets. 3rd/4th quarter 2008 should see the release on Ca$hino’s second album Strong Tower with collaborations from PMD of EPMD, Paragon, Modenine, DBlack and production from producers in the UK, Canada, Germany, Nigeria and the US. 14th May 2007 sees the digital release of the smash ‘Coz I’m African’ on the Itunes platform as well as the release of another Ca$hino knowledge droppin’ track called ‘Free’ and watch out for the ‘Free’ video also droppin’ in May.
