Some Reviews: "There’s more to Chalou Saint Jude than initial listens suggest. Beneath an exterior of Kings of Leon vocal growls and Stones-esque riffs, is an eminent infectiousness that, whilst clearly indebted to the past, can still stamp their own personal identity without getting lost in a mire of references... What Chalou Saint Jude have done is encapsulate the best of the present and past, and they’re the unique owners of a sound so good, you won’t believe nobody’s signed them yet. Classic stuff" - Ali Macqueen, Rock Feedback
"Bluesy rock ’n’ roll yoofs CSJ have a penchant for Velvet Underground and Muddy Waters" - Time Out Magazine
"We were practically blown away by the energy they present on stage... One electricity laden song follows the other, showing off a sound that can be best described as The Kings of Leon meet delta blues and 60s rock... We say this band is the hottest tip of the summer" - Mareike Borkowski, YME
"A slice of sunshine to combat the miserable UK weather, Chalou Saint Jude have nailed the retro indie sound to something much more exciting... If only more indie bands took a leaf out of Chalou Saint Jude’s book. Comprising of the deep throaty vocals of Gavin Duffy set against a retro backdrop, the result is a band that sounds far, far older than the single year it has been active for. Somewhere between those playful guitars lies the kind of talent that so many bands of today would kill for. 12/13" - Philippa McMahon, RoomThirteen
"’One of My Personal Favourites’ is quickly becoming true to its name. Let’s hope that this song is only an indication of where Chalou Saint Jude can get to. They are touring London extensively, be sure to check them out, they’re definitely one to watch out for" - Rockbeatstone
"Though their sound is rooted in the past, Chalou Saint Jude add enough modern, personalised touches to never come across as derivative. Regularly treading the boards across the North London gigging circuit, CSJ are surely destined for bigger things, wise to catch them now" - Spoonfed.co.uk
Influences: Kings of Leon, Beatles, Strokes, Clash, White Stripes, Rolling Stones, Arcade Fire, Velvet Underground, Muddy Waters, all good rock 'n' roll - new and old...
