TUNE Play Dick Goes North From The Kitchen by CiderBaby
This track was recorded in 1983 – a year before ‘Loving Anger’ in the same 24 track studio. We used a Roland MC4 4-track digital music sequencer for some of the synth background melodies while all the other synth riffs and instruments were played live, apart from the rhythm programming which was a TR808 drum machine. I’m doing the vocals and the harmonies. The song’s about a housewife who becomes so bored with her existence, she almost goes insane feeling tied down to the home and her ‘wifey’ obligations. She’s also addicted to buying household utensils and is bordering on the OCD when it comes to being house proud.
