ARTIST The Leads

The Leads are a fresh indie rock outfit from Denny in Central Scotland. The group emerged in August 2006, formed by David Maley, Gary Hornsby, Stuart Taylor and Paul Donaldson, all of whom were entirely new to the local scene. Singer David Brown was added in October and after some swift song-writing, gigging commenced locally soon after. The band worked to quickly establish a set of songs and build a loyal and travelling base of fans. Since then, the band has made notable progress, impacting on the local scene as well as impressing crowds further a field, playing at many prestigious locations including Glasgow's Barfly, Edinburgh's Liquid Rooms and Glasgow's Barrowland. Late 2007 saw the replacement of Donaldson with John Marshall. The band have supported the likes of Scotland's The Law, Figure 5, and Popup, as well as backing up The Stone Roses Experience on various occasions. In early 2008, the band secured a supporting slot for legendary Britpop band The Bluetones. The boys aim to produce a fresh and lively sound, drawing on their varied influences. In the future the lads intend to continue in the same vain as the last year: persisting with the desire that characterises the group, playing to bigger crowds at bigger venues and continuing to write and record.
