Bio

The Dirty Roger “A filthy contamination of rock’n’roll-flavoured electro punk trash blues” Ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn’t’ve fallen in love with? Guaranteed to dislodge an avalanche of lust in the groin, don’t board The Dirty Roger if you want to keep your pants on. And for God’s sake don’t go into the Captain’s Cabin. Dirty Roger started the band in 2008 with a battered acoustic guitar, a dodgy computer and a book of filthy poetry. Crafting the sleaze into powerful songs to deliver the dirty word to the masses, Dirty Roger deposited the filthy goods straight into the heart of hungry crowds. They wanted more… “I’d lick his plank any time” Dirty Roger fan “I didn’t know if I wanted to f**k him or punch him” Promoter Dirty Roger’s soaring delivery of depravity delighted, confused and disgusted audiences in equal measures. It was time to fill in the gaps of this cutlass-edged sound with other testosterone driven musicians. They’re a filthy f**king bunch. Ruthless, without morals but with outstanding talent, the phat helm end of bass player Mark and thrilling energy of drummer Andy form a powerful skeletal warning from the gibbets. Guitarist James scrubs deep gritty blues from the bilges to scale a billowing wall of beautiful sound in full sail. Lethal debonair keyboards player Darren adds a classy twist to the decks – Dazz is equally at home with Mozart’s concertos as the pulsing, electric synth of dirtier dark arts “top flight keyboard player” Venue Magazine, Bristol. “The kind of dirty rock’n’rollers we like to welcome backstage for a jam sandwich” Mal Sainsbury, Glastonbury Press “Impressive control over the crowd with alarming intensity” Subsiren The Dirty Roger are based in Bristol but play throughout the South West and beyond with names such as Emily Breeze, John E Vistic, The Black Diamond Heavies and many more. Their latest 3-track demo CD was recorded at Toybox Studios in Bristol in 2009 and they will re-entering the studio in March 2010 to record a full length album.

This is my absolute fave out of your 3 tracks - beautiful bluesy number, nicely recorded, great dynamics - your singer brought to mind Captain Beefheart in places, which is no bad thing - you lot sound very powerful and exciting - like to check you out if you ever gig around London
