ARTIST Fortunefeller

The story of Fortunefeller is the story of four hard-working, dedicated musicians coming together to create something special. All four members of the Manchester four-piece have been writing and performing music for years. Central to this story is Sheldon, as the band is his brainchild. Originally from South Africa, lead vocalist and acoustic guitar player Sheldon was lucky enough to come from a family of which both sides are very musically talented. Since as far back as he can remember, he has always had a huge passion and love for writing and performing music, his ultimate desire being to be able to do this for a living. Sheldon's search for individuals talented, committed, and hard-working enough to make his dream come true brought him to England. He met bass player Steve at an acoustic café in Heaton moor one night. At the time, Steve was playing bass for a locally successful band Hannah. The two got chatting and shared views about finding the right individuals to progress with in the music industry. Not long after that night, Steve called Sheldon and the two began work on a project that would evolve into Fortunefeller. Having secured sponsorship for a recording (Stand in My Way), Sheldon and Steve were looking for a guitarist and drummer to perform in studio. Having been put in touch with Saq, who at the time played guitar for energetic local band Everyday50, the studio session went well and Sheldon and Steve had found the third quarter to their jigsaw puzzle of Fortunefeller. All the band required now was a drummer who was as experienced, skilled, and dedicated as much as they themselves were. Luckily, Saq answered an advert placed by Dan, who, having played in a covers band for several years, was very keen and very able, and perfect for this project. This is how Fortunefeller came together, by the autumn of 2007. The immediate future will see the band gigging often to build up an already promising following, as well as recording catchy pop track Hurricane which will make up a 2-track demo, also featuring Stand in My Way. With numerous hours of regular rehearsals every week, unending commitment, constant improvement, and a desire to create and perform fantastic music, Fortunefeller promise a great deal for the future.
