I wrote "LULLABY FOR DOMINIK" for my nephew, while sitting in London, unemployed, penniless...
He was born, all jolly and a bundle of joy, in [for me] a far away, new country, called Croatia... This song was what I could and had to give... Written in an afternoon, originally in my mother tongue but then re-sung in English...
Hope you'll enjoy Warren's voice and Kim's keys which give it an adult dimension, with all those gentle anticipations... A bit of home-work, in terms of how it was recorded, that is "strictly home made", no studios allowed, as it were... ;)
My fellow musicians, at a recording course, had a few nice things to say about its melodic nature [a cool soul singer once performed it with me at a showcase for the institution where we studied] and my fellow guitarists were very nice in praising the chords I put together... 'Hope you will find it cool, too...
Imagine Norah Jones singing it gently... I imagine that soon every mum would sing it to her child... ever so sweetly... ;) :)
