Hayashi are: Ana, D and Mwen - Vocals Darren - Keys, Samples, Guitar Ben - Bass, Double Bass Gideon - Drums, Programming Gideon and Ben started Hayashi as a studio project in 2000. D, Ana and Mwen joined in ’05, with Darren stepping in at the start of ’06. Breaking away from the guitar based band format, and being influenced by Drum 'n' Bass, Alt and Electronica, Hayashi is a band playing music which would usually be performed using computers or sequencers playing drum loops. Hayashi play it live. It is a melodious break-beat experience with great big bass complemented by darkly beautiful vocals. The band play a high energy live set with sampled sounds complementing the music to create the same sound as the recorded material. Hayashi will be releasing their new album ‘b a d m a c h I n e’ in August ‘07 The band are based in Leeds, with their recording facilities, Moonrock Studios, situated in Leeds LS6.
