'Huck' was formed in 2005 by founder members Matt and Glyn. The band started life as an acoustic act on the fervent local acoustic scene. In 2006 the band were joined by guitarist Giles an old friend of Matts' the line up was then completed by Al on drums after the band found him through a few local fans. The band began to build up a local following and received much support from the local BBC and independent radio stations as well as the local press being supportive of the band's efforts. 2006 saw the band gigging intensively around the local area as well as in London playing the 'Hope and Anchor' and Camden pubs, and a few summer festival slots locally. The band also played several local radio sessions/interviews. 2007 saw 'Huck' continue to carry building things up with a support slot with 'The Wonderstuff' frontman Miles Hunt after Matt contacted Miles through Myspace and got involved in sorting a gig at the Norwich Arts Centre for Miles. This was followed by an opening slot for 'Scouting for Girls' at the same venue to a sell-out crowd, if that wasn't enough the guys played along side 'Billy Bragg' at a local festival and then opened the show for legendary headline act 'The Undertones' at Norwich Waterfront; this completed a very busy year. In January 2008, Giles decided it was time to call it a day and left huck! to concentrate on buidling his life size model of Bramall Lane using only used matchsticks. However, the band are still continuing as a three piece and are writing new material for their ever growing following of fans and plan to follow on from their success of 2007 The band played Carrow Road football stadium alongside more mainstream pop acts like Jamelia this May. The band are currently self recording/producing their Debut for release early this year. Keeping it er...well very independent...!
The Wonder Stuff, The Jam, The Clash, Slade, Biffy Clyro, Pearl Jam, The Waterboys, Billy Bragg, So so many alot of the post Punk bands of the late 80's and early 90's too....
