ARTIST Jamie Burnham
I came from a land of sea salt and wind-raked northern dunes (grew up outside Hamburg, Germany), but left there when I'd left school and have moved around the world ever since. Hence I've lived in a Welsh mountain village, in Scotland, California, and now am back in London, which I love. So there - my life in a nutshell; any way the wind blows...
Influences: The band that made me want to be a musician was The Cure. I grew up with a lot of New Wave stuff, but my dad made me tapes of the Pixies, The Stone Roses and similar bands, too, and I really loved that. Now i am influenced mostly by Jeff Buckley and bands like Bright Eyes and Richmond Fontaine (gotta dig their pedal steel sound!)
