Songwriter Paul decided to form The Strands at the end of 2006 when he split with his former band, over amongst other things "musical differences". After several major arguments he told em to do one and go get a job in macdonalds. Paul decided to go and find some committed musicians with balls to take his songs forward. He firstly recruited John to bash the hell out of the drum kit. He rates Keith Moon as one of his biggest influences and his enthusiastic powerful style may cause him to spontaniously combust on stage at some point (Lets ave it!). Lead guitarist Matt was the next to join(Feb07). He brings something different to the band as his style and sound is heavily influenced by classic rock guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Paul Kossoff, Jimmy Page. Watch out for his big self indulgent guitar solos that are probably gonna piss off the rest of the band. After a couple of lead singers came and went, the band finally found the front man that they had been looking for when Dean came for an audition and totally nailed it. He is a cracking frontman with a really soulful edge to his voice that brings bags of emotion to the songs. Nick joined the band to play bass April 07. The ACE OF BASS is the engine room of the band. His style and ability set him apart from most other bassists, plus, you should check out the beast that he wields. The best way to describe The Strands music is Indie Rock. It has all the infectious melodies of Indie music but also has a rockier sound with Matts big guitar solos and Johns best impression of the mighty Moon. The Strands are going places.
