Bio

The Damphouses

Three guys had heard about Kev's new drum kit and one rehearsal later it was all happening....

Named after a character from a Sega ice hockey game; (Vincent Damphousse). The Damphouses lived up to their name, playing sweaty gigs in and around the North East of England for around 7 years. Formned in the early 1990's, the band were a sum of their parts.

Adam was the front man and principal song-writer. Enigmatic and erratic, his performances were never average. Adam's songs ranged from heart felt ballads about self harm, abandonment and destructive relationships to balls out rock classics about friends, girls and destructive relationships.

Ky was the incendiary guitarist at the hub of every song. Playfully dubbed 'Noodles Bettencourt' due to his hair, constant riffing in every song and his ability to play the final flurry from Extreme's 'More than words', Ky was the talent. Playing either of his guitars (Alan and Sir Les) behind his head, he commanded your attention.

Tacka was the glue and the transport. His solid bass, backing vocals and Citroen AX meant that he was integral to the band. Neil tried his best to arrange the band finances but these were regularly pilfered by the band's resident Arthur Fowler...

Kev played drums, slightly out of time but always with imagination and a heavy hand. He was the only member to continue playing after the band split and sat in on the drums for the widely successful first EP from 'The Forgotten Sons' who moved on to conquer London and the world. Kev played guitar in King of Sixes, who gained acclaim for their debut EP 'All things being equal'.

The Damphouses recorded the demo tracks available on Amazing Tunes at First Avenue recording studios in Newcastle on 16 track analogue equipment. Much of this is 'one take' stuff with only a few guitar overdubs. Enjoy
