Carlo Briffa grew up in Miles Platting teaching himself to play guitar at a homeless refuge center that was dishing out free lessons. His guitar soon became the focus of his existence.

He had been writing songs with Andrew "Bod" Smith. Bod having learned to play drums by watching the drummer of a brass band.

With a shared love of Bob Marley each brought along their own influences- Simon & Garfunkel, Springsteen, Grant Lee Buffalo, The Hollies, Motown, Neil Diamond, The Who, REM & Fugazi.

Kevin Gimbert was ushered in by Lady Luck. Chatting with a taxi driver about music the cabbie mentioned two guys looking for a bass player. Kev, a self taught guitarist who had never played bass before, handed over his number not expecting anything to come of it. Until he got a call the next day from Carlo and Bod.

Dean "Deano" Ryan had been watching his mates from the sidelines. Selling door to door at the time and learning keyboards at home. He didn't think he stood a chance of being part of what they were creating... Carlo bought him in and within a week Kni9hts had their first gig.


What you get from Kni9hts is a strong sense of belonging and pride. A down to earth set of lads but you can feel the deeper purpose behind it..

Kni9hts don't set out to be anyone but themselves, I'm sure it's not cool to name check Dire Straits or Hall & Oates as influences but they don't really care.
