Hi. This site is a kind of musical diary of my recent work. I've just decided to restrict it to only the tunes/tracks relevant to the two years since I started doing this full time and so if you're looking for my older songs please go to my other site on myspace.com/lizpricesongs Between summer 2006 and 2007 I put together the first tracks of the myfanwy project - an idea that I think is unique in that it's kind of making music on the hoof and with others ie. I wanted to be a composer (for want of a better word because what I really mean is putting tracks down directly onto computer) but visible.. in all sorts of different locations and contexts .. and being open to the prospect of incorporating the sounds, ideas etc of whoever is around at the time. The first tracks came about more by chance than anything - I was a kind of musician in residence at a home education summer camp and rather than teaching brass or songs I thought I'd like to experiement with making recordings and an intro to creative music. I didn't know how it'd work out but this was its strength. The week resulted in various tracks I was really pleased with (and would never have written on my own) and a clearer insight into how to continue with this process. I carried on making random tracks with random people (sorry folks!) including putting music to poetry firstly of Patricia at Dhanakosa and then of Sally Evans (http://groups.msn.com/desktopsallye )my cousin. I thoroughly enjoyed this process and as a result was invited to her private poetry festival/party which resulted in meeting a grand selecction of poets .. great people and ultimately an album - my first entitled "Snappy Day" www.freewebs.com/writersmarket/othermerchandise.html released by Poetry Scotland in January 2008. The poems are by Sally Evans, Mike Penney, Maureen Weldon, Rowena M Love, Etta Dunne, Morelle Smith, Juliana Greer and Julian (aka Daizan) Skinner with songs by Mike Penney and Kemal Houghton )! Julian Skinner and I have made another album "An invitation to the Dance" more details soon. Some of the 27 tracks can be heard here and on... vids.myspace.com/ index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.search&t=daizan Since then for relaxation have made some fun tracks based on well known tunes.
