ARTIST Lux Lisbon

Lux Lisbon write epic indie-rock songs where bittersweet love stories are set to soaring melodies and boy/girl harmony layered on piano, violin and spiky guitars. They take their cues from the likes of Arcade Fire, Killers and U2, making hook laden pop gems sparkle with dualling boy/girl vocals over a widescreen soundscape painted by guitars and violin. Since forming at Nottingham University and winning the University Battle of the Bands in their final gig as students, Lux Lisbon have graduated and relocated en masse to London at the tail end of 2007 are currently gigging in and around the capital. Since then they have played/secured gigs at The Fly, The Metro Club, Dublin Castle, Water Rats and the Bull and Gate attracting new fans and management interest along the way. They have also secretly accrued North American acclaim via new music blog/chart www.thesixtyone.com where their songs have struck a chord over and above many signed and established acts. The songs featured here were the fruits of sessions with producer Guy Elderfield (The Libertines/The Donnas). As well as this material, the band make a feature of having new songs filmed or recorded live on their website for regular listeners to stay in touch and come back to.
