ARTIST SWEET JANE

Sweet Jane began in early 2007 it had originally started as a side project for Lydia Des Dolles & Danda, guitarist/writer for Dublin’s ‘The Brothers Movement’. After recording in their home studio, they realised the songs potential and decided to put more focus into the band. One year on they have now completed their line-up with Ruairi, Staf & Andy. And have been spending the last few months gigging furiously throughout Ireland gaining plenty of successful live reviews and a firm following. Their live set could only be described as an energetic rollercoaster of sleazy guitars & achingly sexy vocals, which are split between Lydia & Danda, and of course they top it all off with their trade mark droned out shoe gaze rock 'n roll. They have also put themselves back in the studio after receiving an invitation to work alongside Rough Trades’ very own producer Graham Sutton (Jarvis Cocker, British Sea Power, Bark Psychosis, liars), on their forthcoming debut release. 2008 is sure to be a busy year for the 5 piece, along with their debut release it sees them play support to ‘The Duke Spirit’ in Dublin’s ‘The Village’, and brings them overseas to play their first UK date & 1st festival, aptly titled ‘The Dream Machine’, which they play alongside the project ‘The Dilettantes’, the Brian Jonestown Massacres Joel Gion’s side project & ex Spaceman 3/Spiritualized member Will Carruthers new venture ‘Free Love Babies’.
