The Low Lights are a 4 piece Indie Rock and Roll band from Cardiff. The group, consisting of Nat (vocals and guitar), Matt (Lead guitar), Rich (Drums) and Ben (Bass), has seen their home town following grow and grow, and with the release of their new EP, they are ready to take the rest of the UK by storm Forming in 2006, school friends Rich and Nat recruited Ben and Matt, and the band didn’t waste any time making an impact. After attracting massive busking crowds, the band saved their pennies and hit the studio to record their first E.P in late 2006. On the back of this, the gig offers started coming, and The Low Lights were soon playing their own sell out shows at Cardiff’s Barfly, a massive achievement for an unsigned band. The E.P attracted interest from local media too, with ITV filming the band for it’s ‘Unsigned’ show, and BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stevens playing tracks from the EP on his show. Further accolades began coming, with the band performing a headline show at the prestigious ‘In The City’ festival in Manchester in 2007, and The Guardian Newspaper making one of the bands songs their song of the day. In early 2008, the band returned to the studio, and following the release of their new EP, The Low Lights will be playing at a venue near you very soon. “Young, precocious indie-funk-punk foursome The Low Lights have established a reputation as an alternative band of promise." – BBC Wales Website "The very definition of CATCHY" – Gill Mills, iCast ‘Best of Myspace’ Podcast
