ARTIST Neon Choir

NEON CHOIR is country-punking indie-pop folk rocking at its cheery melancholic best. Think a countrified version of The Cranberries, or perhaps a bit of K's Choice mixed with a tad of Radiohead, but then a whole lot of Deathcab for Cutie and Johnny Cash.. maybe a Dashboard Confessional approach at times, though less whiney and with female vocals ..and all the quirk of something like Rainer Maria, except more smoothly finished ..yeeea, you're starting to land somewhere close to the sounds Neon Choir are producing from the crag of rock and rain soaked peat, England, they call their home. Matthew and Amy have been writing together for five years, moving through various projects, as an acoustic duo on the waterfront of sweltering surf city Durban, South Africa, where they met studying architecture, to the stages of London in 2005. Neon Choir is their latest nostalgic adventure accompanied by and Adam Stanley (ex Deluxe) on the kit, and fresh faced Ian Roberts on bass. Amy's accented vocals and introspective lyrics in combination with Matthew's textured, melodic guitars create rich, layered anti-love songs glowing with neon quirk! In the short time these four have been working neon majeek they have managed a brief stint of international gigs and aim to release their first EP over the course of the year. ..The drums are thumping, the guitars are jangling and the melodies are heartfelt and memorable..
