ARTIST Nina Schofield
I'm an 18 year old singer/songwriter from Winchester who started to compose at a very early age. My songs are very much influenced by my life and the people around me, and I always sit at a piano to compose. I am a drummer too! I've been lucky enough to perform in some incredible places such as at the Montreux Jazz Festival 2007 with The Jazz Detectives, a jazz band for which I was lead vocalist, and at Winchester Cathedral. I am currently studying towards a Vocal degree in Contemporary Music at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, after which I hope to continue building on becoming a successful artist in the music industry. Influences: I am a classically trained pianist and singer and this has certainly broadened my musical tastes. I love everything from Coldplay to Beethoven but I am particularly inspired by certain songs that I hear. Every now and then I hear something such as "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap, or "Life on Mars" by David Bowie, and it reminds me why I aspire to be a successful singer/songwriter. Going to see live acts like The Feeling, Bens Brother and Seal also create this same feeling.
