ARTIST Ian Matthew Hale

Ian Matthew Hale

Ian Matthew Hale was born in 1982. He lived with his mother and moved all over the country throughout his childhood, writing and performing all the while. His uncle, Keith Hale, a prominent figure in he and his sisters’ upbringing was also a touring musician, recording with Ginger Baker, Hawkwind, and Toyah in his time. His sister Alice Hale, a Brit School graduate and yet another troubadour of the family now records at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Bath and regularly tours herself. Ian now lives in London entertaining audiences large and small with his music. Performing everywhere from intimate personal shows like the David Goo Variety Show at the Cross Kings to sharing the main stage at The Fire Festival in Bournemouth with ‘Vincent Vincent’ and ‘The Villians’- the result of a lifetime devoted to developing his talent. To this day Ian continues to spend much of his time digging through the back-catalogues of favourite record labels, never tiring in his search for something new, occasionally reworking the songs of Captain Beefheart, The Magnetic Fields and Todd Rundgren to name a few. 2007 saw the release of the ’Ian M. Hale E.P’, a project that was entirely self-funded and over the last year he has played with The BeatRoot-RenDez-Vous. Plans for his debut album ’Hot Water Medicine’ are now underway. It is set to be released in early 2009
