ARTIST Plywood Dog
Plywood Dog is a gone-wrong pop group made up of three male human beings and a handful of their friends. What we do is extremely varied - if one of us wants to have a go at something/anything then we'll give it a bash, it really does'nt matter what kind of music it is we'll try it. We've produced 3 CDs so far and had a track played on the Rob da Bank show on Radio1. Not being a regular gigging band and having a combined age of over 2000 is holding us back from becoming groovy pop stars. Nevermind.
Influences: We don't all like the same things, but between the three of us we're into: Miles Davis, Sun Ra, The Shadows, The Beach Boys, early Zappa/Mothers, Capt' Beefheart, Pavement, The Residents, Fairport Convention, Igor Stravinsky, Neil Young, Soft Machine, Bo Diddley, Tony Williams, Faust, Can, Kraftwerk, Bonzo Dog Band, Velvet Underground, Blood Ulmer, John Adams, Gyorgy Ligeti, Howlin' Wolf, Cream, John McLaughlin, Love, Ornette Coleman, The Faces, John Coltrane, The Who, Varttina, Steve Reich, The Beatles, The Stooges, Bob Dylan, Derek Bailey, Chic, Hank Williams, Syd Barrett, etc...
