Ryme

Birmingham born rap artist, grown up in the area of Billesley whos aim is to make a name in the game and to gain respect for his music. Ryme has performed live twice at the medicine bar (Custard Factory) and performed infront of hundreds at Artsfest 2004 (Bullring, Birmingham) but has also done smaller gigs locally around Billesley receiving praise and positive feedback...... When Ryme was younger, his first real knowledge of rap was hearing songs from artists from earlier 90s which were popular. But he was firstly inspired to listen to more rap music after hearing Eminems first album. Soon after he started listening to various different artists and liked hearing underground and unknown artists that were trying to make it themselves which inspired Ryme to write lyrics. The name Ryme was formed as a nickname to be called when in situations when real names are better not to be shouted out. There wasnt a music reason behind the name at first until starting to write lyrics. At first Ryme didnt feel his material was good enough to show people until rapping to one friend which liked the flow and lyrics then Ryme was soon encouraged to rap in front of anyone willing to listen. Soon after, he recorded his first song and was inspired to write all feelings and thoughts into his lyrics and has grew a lot in songwriting, confidence and also produced a few of his songs and produced beats for local artists in Billesley. Till now Ryme has been writing lyrics for about three years but started taking music serious for just over a year. Rymes songs are influenced by problems with life and the world around him. Ryme is trying to make a success of his life and be a respected rap artist but at the same time wants to put Billesley on the map and to contribute to make Birminghams rap scene become more noticed.
