The general opinion of the audience is that they sound very much like Pearl Jam, and they produce a very polished, professional sound. - They rate their influences among Counting Crows and Pearl Jam. - 'Sympathy' was a slow, drive-time number, but grew on me as it progressed. The instruments stopped and unaccompanied vocals soared, then the guitars crashed back in - very nice. - Set for the Stadiums - Their song, Before The Morning. And I really have to say the guitar playing was totally excellent and made the band. This song also produced the best singing of the night; credit to Matt. - The set ends with stadium guitars and a crash of the drums. An Americanised resonance was the product of their set, but this band have been going for two years and have had time to perfect their songs to give a polished end creation. - Afterwards the band thought that it "didn't go as good as last week" but they still hope to win "and get to play the Summer Ball (Staffs Uni)". Take a look at their website www.myspace.com/thesundayclub. - bbc Frankly rock The consensus for those who have seen them live are that Sundayclub frankly rock. This is how they used to do it in the old days, real songs, combining a sound that might suggest another decade if it weren't so rooted in the moment. its old school, but a new sound, Be upstanding, Ladies and Gentleman, for Sundayclub. - Press pass Standing firmly Sundayclub presented an impressive set which was best savoured and not rush - The Charlotte crowd were obviously taken aback and within a couple of songs had impressed the audience and received enthusiastic reactions from within the venue. all of this in the face of minor adversity as one of the guitarists broke a sting within the first few bars and had to play with 5 strings for the first 2 songs. This didn’t phase the band in the slightest and while the guitarist ran offstage to find a replace axe, the rest of the group coolly changed the set slightly and carried on. - with more performances like this, i predict Sundayclub will keep standing firmly for a long time to come. - Heathen Angel
Influences: Sundayclub from Leicester is an acoustic melodic six piece with a penchant for great song writing encompassing tremendously catchy melodies. Whilst taking influence from great bands such as, Matchbox 20, Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls and many more, the Sunday Club will be a unique treat for your ears.
