Bio

The Briganties hail from Berwick in the Scottish Borders (actually it falls on the English side, but saying Scotland saves a lot of explanation). The band have released 2 singles to good reviews and radio support and currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album to be released in spring/summer 2009. The Briganties have recently played alongside the cream of Scottish talent like Attic Lights, Isoceles, Grace Emilys (and Coolio!) at the Scotcampus Freshers Festival in Glasgow which was attended by 12,000+ over the weekend and helped raise over £5,500 for Marie Curie at the Rockoncology event at Glasgow Barrowlands. "A band bursting with potential and definitely ones to watch in 2008. "The Girl Heaven Sold To The World" is an epic song destined to become a classic. God bless The Briganties!" - Q Magazine "Indie with post-rock tinges that give them an anthemic sound...indie but not schmindie"- NME "Ever wondered what happened to good old fashioned indie? Are you sick of the latest wave of electro/nu-rave/emo? If so then The Briganties are the band for you. A very British sound with soaring vocals and vintage guitar solos" - The List (Single of the Fortnight) "Liam Smith's laidback vocals tear at the heartstrings" - Planet Sound, Channel 4 Teletext "It's rough, it's raw, it's great"- James Clark, BBC Radio Newcastle "Raucous rock 'n' roll" - Vic Galloway, BBC Radio 1 "Marvellous stuff, built as much for the stadium as for the wild blowing winds of the Northumbrian coastline"- music-dash.co.uk "Pure British indie gold" - The Skinny "Impressive...album hotly anticipated" - Newcastle Evening Chronicle "They have a certain baggy charm that will resonate through the masses" - Is This Music? "All the best qualities of an anthem, indie back to its best again"- NARC Magazine "It will no doubt go on to be huge" - God Is In The TV "The Briganties are bringing back some of the old fire, the kind that turns seemingly-ordinary songs into classics. Keep an eye out for them" - IC Radio
