http://www.myspace.com/thefranksUK The loner (vocals/guitar), the cool kid (bass) and the class clown (guitar) found a drummer on the Internet and after a few name changes, they formed the Franks. They've done their fair share of gigging around London, playing all the usual Camden haunts as well as headlining at the Clapham Grand. In the summer of 2006, the bright-eyed youths took a chance on a strange American manager and toured across America's East Coast, headlining gigs at venues like the Knitting Factory and Arlene's Grocery in New York as well as the Khyber in Philadelphia. The boys were popular with the American crowd, but the strange American manager proved to be too strange for them. So, leaving their childhood innocence and a drum kit behind, they returned to their homeland to play a few festivals and charity events, namely Guilfest (Guildford), Gig for Life (Manchester) and OxJam (Edinburgh). During their third year of University, the boys were scattered across Europe, "finding themselves" (so they say) in four of Europe's finest cultural hot-spots (Edinburgh, Paris, Madrid and Sunderland, respectively); nonetheless, after lots of busking in foreign metros, webcams and phone calls, they managed to create enough new material to record their debut album 'Suzy Can't Spell', which will be independently released later in '08. Now, firmly planted in Edinburgh, armed with maturity and enough bizarre tales to amply fill a VH1 Behind the Music special, the boys are back in action and ready for their upcoming summer festival tour across Europe (together this time) aimed at promoting their new songs and accommodating their growing fan-base.
