ARTIST TC
"TC" is my artist name, standing for Tim Catterall, my full birth name. TC is a singer-songwriter recording solo album project. I play all instruments myself and write, arrange and record all the material - this usually revolves around acoustic, 12-string, electric and bass guitars, and sometimes a tinkle of mandolin, percussion, drum prgramming and keyboards. I sing everything on these recordings, though I sometimes work in duos with other singers and players. I sometimes enjoy a live performance as Tc or indeed in as half a duo.
Influences: My influences are fairly broad, from folk to rock, jazz and blues to pop. One of my all-time crucial inspirations is Richard Thompson. I sometimes fit into the Nick Drake category though sometimes my music tends to wander down very different lanes. Other guitarists that have shaped my sound would include David Gilmour, Steve Howe, and Joni Mitchell. However I am 90% of the time routed in SONG rather than instrumental workouts, so REM, James, Crowded House, Catatonia, Led Zeppelin and others are in my heart and sound.
