ARTIST Tinderbox

Tinderbox began as an acoustic folk/rock duo featuring Monique Houraghan with a distinctive 'honey-like' vocal, and Dan Tucker with an intricate finger style guitar technique.

Recently joined by accomplished and talented musicians Catherine Burke (whistles/mandolin/vocals) and Gav Jones (percussion) Tinderbox have developed into a formidable folk/rock band.

More recently, the band have been lucky enough to benefit from Bobby Burke's bass and vocal contributions. Bobby, a popular and diverse musician and fantastic singer-songwriter in his own right, has performed excellent guitar and vocal parts at a number of live Tinderbox show's throughout 2007.

Both duo and full band performances continue to receive excellent reviews, even being described by one German critic as 'a miracle in a small matchbox'.

Influenced by artists such as James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Counting Crows, the Eagles and Jewel; Tinderbox have developed a varied and dynamic repertoire of original material.

After four creative years living in Dublin between 1997 and 2001 the duo spent two years travelling the world. During this time they acquired an agent in Australia and performed dozens of gigs in Melbourne and Sydney. This provided vital experience and also helped to further enhance their repertoire.

Tinderbox have since performed in countries ranging from Germany, Hong Kong and Fiji, to New Zealand, Australia and Thailand.

On their return to the UK in late 2004 Monique and Dan settled in Bournemouth where they stayed. Tinderbox are now promoting their music through live performances, studio and live recordings. and through their official website:

In 2007 Tinderbox performed a number of headline shows to capacity crowds. Additionally, they were lucky enough to support a number of talented and high-profile acts including Kris Drever, Ralph McTell, Uiscedwr and Megson.

2008 will see the release of Tinderbox's third Studio album. 'Golden' is currently in post production as is due for launch later in the year.

With Monique's powerful voice, Dan's delectable guitar style and the band's awesome addition to the entire sound and feel of the music, Tinderbox is definitely an acoustic act to look out for.
