"His music defies categories, spanning earthy blues, love ballads, soul, rock and jazz. He has one of the most expressive voices you will ever hear, and he uses it to bring out all the emotions he packs into some superb lyrics" MUSIC WEEK.

Pianist for blues stars like Alexis Korner and Eric Burdon, Paul has been recognized in Europe as an outstanding singer, songwriter. His songs have been used by such singers as Bonnie Tyler and Elkie Brooks, and he has made many highly aclaimed solo recordings.

Raised in Norfolk, Paul started his musical career in the late 60's and early 70's playing piano and keyboards with blues and soul bands, music which was to be a great influence throughout his career. He subsequently toured the world in the bands of Alexis Korner, Eric Burdon, various visiting American blues singers such as Louisiana Red, Bert Jansch, Jo Ann Kelly, Peter Thorup and Dr Hook's Denis Le Corrier. Tours and TV

Appearances on European TV shows, especially a solo show on the biggest TV rock program of the 80's - ?Rock Palast' in Germany, have maintained his reputation. He has performed in the US and Canada and now tours regularly throughout Europe both solo and with the backing of top British musicians, including critically acclaimed appearances in the main continental festivals and in Britain at the Edinburgh Arts and Cambridge Festivals.

Songs

His songs often retain his soul and blues background, but unusually range in subject material across social, political and personal relationships. His songs have been translated into many languages and have even been the source of ballet choreography . The main breakthrough for Paul as a composer was Elkie Brooks recording ''Too much between us'' for her hit album ''Pearls 2'?, and many other artists have performed and recorded his songs, most recently Bonny Tyler singing ?Forget her? on her ??Free Spirit?? album.

Paul has composed music and songs for more European film productions and music for Thames TV, Channel Four and BBC Two programs including TV Society and BAFTA award winners. In 2003, he composed the orchestral music for the BBC film ?JLB?, directed by Jan Leman which was repeatedly shown on BBC 4 and BBC 2.

He has recently enjoyed writing with long time friend Benny Gallagher of Gallagher and Lyle fame, with Chris Neil, the producer and writer of Mike and the Mechanics and top-selling artist Celine Dion, and with top writers in Nashville USA. A trip to Russia took place in April 2000 working with a top Russian symphony orchestra on an ambitious new ballet project involving Paul?s music with dance and art. First concert performances of this work ?PAPILLONS? took place with full orchestra and choir in Switzerland and France October 2005.

Paul is still touring and recording in the UK & Europe. In 2004 his twelfth solo album WHEN LOVE COMES CALLING was released in UK on Sanctuary Records, and his newest release UNDERCOVER is just out in Europe.

''If there was any justice in the musical world, he would be filling the biggest halls in the land.'' THE SCOTSMAN

Influences: The soul quality of his vocal style has been compared with early hero Ray Charles and Joe Cocker, and his piano style from Memphis Slim to Lenny Tristano.
