drums are killer!!!!
Written by a head of music at Radio Station! First Kiss/Last Kiss - Like the ambigious lyrics. Your drummer is an animal! Ok, just to stick this single right up in their face as soon as they hit play... I'd drop a copy of the :06sec drum solo that comes in at 1:54 & runs to 2:00. Then at :06 bring in the stum guitar open you have now with the dropped back drums and then kick it off at :12, as it is now. The singer has some dynamic pipes so you would give this song a Boom, Boom, Boom start. Give them a tease of what's to come and, most importantly, open up like a monster! Every music and A&R guy will stay on this song to the hook line. That's all you want them to do, your lucky if they go past the first :05 or :10 sec. It's vital to make them stay on your song up to the hookline or at least up to the first music shift...if you can hold them that long they will usually stay to the end if it stays interesting. If they listen to an entire song, you usually will get airplay if your plugger sold the act well and confidently. Great chorus backing vocals and harmonies...they need just a touch more presence though as their kinda pasted against the wall of sound that the band put forth and the powerful lead vocal. Finally, I think the vocals at the end - the repeat of 'FK/LK addiction' from 3:00...he needs to vary that line a note or two each time...know what I mean? Change the emphasis around on the syllables a tad. I could probably sing the changes easier than write them. Just to keep the listener on their toes right to the last drop and avoid being repetitive or...worse still - faded out early by the jocks! A jock will, usually, always wait for the last vocal maneuver - if one is there - before they start blabbing...if it's a straight repetition you are backing music for the jock to babble about his approaching idiot's quiz or the weather report. Know what I mean? This is a hit any day of the week! And you know what else it proves...your boys there wouldn't have any problem with starting a song with accapella harmony vocals, ala Queen or Styx not an easy thing to pull off. (Do you know Styx? I know, I know, stop! But I loved Renegade! Graduating class of 1980 and all that! LOL ) No question Zenyth are gonna happen, it's only a question of when. I think most people are gonna shorten their name to Zenyth though. Don't you?
Renowned around Cardiff for being a live act once seen and never forgotten, each member of the band has their own unique, creative style and personality. In the studio Zenyth have captured the raw power of their live show that makes them stand out from... Read More
